This is top shelf CoCo software! My only complaint is that it's a little too easy... as others say I'd love to see this extended, maybe more screens and maybe a little more complex gameplay to make it harder - bats harder to dodge etc. But the graphics, animation and gameplay mechanics are absolutely top notch! Well done!
I found out about this game from the Amigos CoCo show and donated a few dollars at their recommendation. Great game! I hope you keep working on it and improving it.
Now this is nice! This would have been right up there with my favourites (e.g. Tom Mix) had it been released “in the day.” Makes my heart warm.
A note that I first tried this on a real CoCo 1 and it works perfectly apart from a constant buzzing during gameplay. Sounds like the speaker is being pulsed. No such issue running on an emulator.
This “buzzing” on hardware has been confirmed by others. Any chance this could be looked into - probably a simple fix I imagine (or would hope).
This is great stuff. I'm a Donkey Kong guy from way back..I own the arcade machine...and I know great platform control, and this has it. Jumping on and off ladders is spot on. I'd LOVE to see you take the bones of this game and really expand it. This game is great fun...it's instantly top tier on CoCo platformers. We're talking about it on a future CoCo Show and i'm really surprised and stoked at what you have done here. PLEASE, keep this level of platforming coming to the CoCo.
Fun game! The controls feel responsive, and I like how it harkens back to retro games while not being quite as tough. The animations are charming, too, especially the player character's smooth walking animation. Great job!

Game looks cool, but it locks up after a few seconds on my 64k CoCo 2. I'm using a Backbit cartridge, perhaps that's the reason?

The buzzing also happens on a CoCo 2 MiSTer core. But - it’s perfect on the CoCo 3 core - so happy days!
